Tri-State Elite Baseball League

TSE Scheduling and Playoff Update
March 3, 2024

Coaches Listing Release Date and Time (Age Divisions 8U – 14U)
The listing will be sent out on March 9 beginning at 10:00am at which time coaches can begin scheduling their season. Please note that the 8U listing will go out first at 10:00. Allow for about 3 minutes for the next age division to be released, and repeat the process through the 14U division which would be around 10:15.

Scheduling Process
The Head Coach’s Name from the registration form will be the first name listed for the team and will be deemed the primary contact for scheduling purposes. The Assistant Coach’s Name is the second name listed. If you need to change, please let us know by end of day Friday so that we can adjust the listing. Teams will begin scheduling Saturday morning. We advise teams not to wait until later in the day to schedule as it may become more challenging in getting all the games you want. Scheduling is done by coaches working together and contacting each other via email, text or phone. Have your dates mapped out for availability prior to scheduling for efficiency when you start the process at 10:00.

Have a blast message ready to send once you receive the coaches listing email from us. Let teams know your availability, when you have your home field and having lights is a plus early in the season. Work on your schedule once you receive the listing so that you are able to get the desired amount of games you want for your team. Working with the other coaches, you determine the dates and times of your games. If you have any questions on the scheduling process, please send us an email with specific questions prior to March 9 so that we may assist you and make it easy for you, especially for the new coaches.

Season Start and End Date
The season starts any time after March 9 when your team is ready to play, and the weather is cooperative. The playoff cutoff date is June 16 (8U-13U) and July 21 (14U). The end date to the season is July 21.

Skill Classifications
Skill classifications are not listed in the Standings on account of the playoff format, however they are listed in the coaches listing that you will receive. Teams can schedule and play against any team regardless of skill level. However they should work together when scheduling to prevent playing non-competitive games.

Team Schedule Form

A league approved format is contained within the website under the League Info/Resource page. Once your schedule is complete, send to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and we will load into the site for you. Also, please ensure you include the applicable team name when there are multiple teams for one program (e.g., Red or Blue).

Playoff Requirements
Teams must play a minimum of 10 games overall to qualify for the playoffs.

Playoff Format - 10U to 12U.
National Division - Accept up to 8 teams. Start with all Minor teams that request to participate. Minor teams will be seeded above Rookie teams. Seed based on overall winning percentage. If less than 8 Minor teams, complete the bracket with the top Rookie teams based on overall winning percentage.

American Division - Accept up to 8 teams. No Minor teams can participate in this Division. Determine the number of Rookie teams requesting to participate less those teams playing in the National Division. Seed based on overall winning percentage.

Scheduling and Playoff Format – 8U, 9U, 13U and 14U
Seeding determination for the playoffs would be based on the Overall winning percentage. We would take the top 16 teams (assuming that many teams opt to participate) for each age division. The top 8 teams based on Overall winning percentage will participate in the National Division playoffs. The next 8 will participate in the American Division playoffs. TSE has the right to change the number of teams participating in the playoffs based on how many teams are registered within an age division. TSE may also change the format based on how many teams opted to participate (e.g., 6 team format vs 8 team format).

TSE Sanctioned Tournaments
All games played during these tournaments count in the standings. This will help teams with adding games to their schedule and meeting playoff game requirements. The registration link to these tournaments is on the Home page of the website. The tournament director will forward us the schedule and results for all games played.

Umpires
During the season, the Home team secures the umpires. The cost is split by both teams.

Confirmation of Games
Be committed to the games that you schedule. Ensure during the season, that a few days prior to the game that you confirm the game, location, time, etc. with your opposing coach so there is no misunderstanding of the game.

Baseballs for Sale
If you are interested in purchasing baseballs, please send an e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your request. We have baseballs on hand and will coordinate delivery of them to you. The pre-season cost is $49/dozen.

Schedule only Registered TSE Teams
Please take notice of the teams in your age division when you schedule. Only those teams listed are registered with the League. There are teams not in the League that use an old version of the listing and request games because they try and be sneaky and won’t pay the League fee. If that happens to you, we will request you cancel those games and replace with teams in the League. Games versus any other teams are nothing more than a scrimmage game and will not be reflected in the standings. Click on your age division to see what teams are participating to date.
